Ready – Respectful – Safe
At The Orchard School, we keep things simple and consistent.
These three words are the foundation of how we behave, learn and belong:
These rules are for everyone: children, staff, visitors and families.
They are lived out every day through The Orchard Way and reinforced through kind, clear and consistent adult behaviour.
Examples of Calm, Regulating Language:
“I can see you’re struggling. I’m here to help.”
“Let’s pause and think together.”
“You’re not in trouble. I want to understand.”
“Let’s find a way forward - together.”
Repair and Reflection:
“How were you feeling at the time?”
“What was the impact of your behaviour?”
“What needs to happen now to put things right?”
Consistency is key.
All staff use shared language to reinforce expectations and support regulation.
We don’t manage behaviour- we support young people.
A calm adult = a calm classroom = a calm child.
This MVV framework belongs to all of us -staff, pupils, families, governors and professionals.
Together, we will use it to shape decisions, celebrate progress and move forward with clarity, compassion and purpose.
Let’s continue to build a school where everyone matters and everyone cares -every single day.
